Choc-O-Lot!

One night during the week I felt like being in the kitchen...wonders never cease...since I would rather be in the art studio any ol' day. But I had seen this simple chocolate bar receipe on Food Network and I just had to try it out. After Jill and Cooper tasted it I was told we NEED to make it for our Solstice Celebration!

All you need to do is: (excuse me, but I don't measure) dump two bags of semi-sweet milk chocolate chips into a double boiler (I put a big pasta bowl over a pan of simmering water) and stir 'em up till they melt...take about two handful's of slivered almonds you have toasted in the oven for ten minutes to bring out their flavor and mix them in with the melting chocolate...then take about two handful's of orange-flavored (my choice) dried cranberries and mix that in really good.

Have a shallow baking sheet lined with tin foil and spread the warm chocolate/almond/cranberry mixture out evenly -- then let it chill baby! Once the chocolate has completely chilled and gotten firm break it up into pieces and put them in a zip-lock baggie and hide it in the back of the fridge where it's not so easy to get to :-)

I bought all my ingredients at Trader Joe's...all great quality and affordable!

There are no stem-cells that can cure heartlessness...I LOVE Patti Davis !

Heartlessness
Michael J. Fox is an example of how we should all be living our lives. Rush Limbaugh’s nasty stem-cell-ad response is not.

Finally A New Post!

So. I have been in bed for 3 days. On Monday afternoon while at work I got broadsided by the cold/flu bug. Big time. This is not my idea of happy.

My idea of happy was the Saturday before I got sick. We celebrated my granddaughter's (nickname: Cooper) 15th Birthday at Disneyland.

Cooper enjoying the new Canon XTi 10.1 mega pixel camera I gifted her with :)
I took the photo with my measly little Canon 8.1 in the courtyard in New Orleans Square.

Who better to wish you a Happy 15th Birthday than Captain Jack Sparrow who appeared out of the blue as we awaited our dinner reservations at The Blue Bayou in Pirates of the Caribbean!

Cap'n Jack asked them what they were doing in his courtyard, and of course they replied "we were invited!"...yeah, that's tellin' 'em matey! har har!

After taking a wonderful photo of this wonderful New Orleans jazz guitarist Cooper took a moment to thank him personally. New Orleans Square is without a doubt my favorite land in Disneyland...

No doubt about it, Cooper's birthday was SuperCaliFragilIsticExpiAliDocious...yeah I am sure I spelled it wrong......but you can all sing along anyway.... :)
