I would expect people to be human, regardless of their place of origin. This perhaps makes me an anomaly.

I think its heartening to hear that there are still people out there willing to stop and help a stranger, no matter their personal circumstances. Too many times people will turn their face away and just hurry past.

Dagny, I love tolerance.org - thanks for reminding me about it! It's been awhile since I visited it.
Kate, what touched me was the 'immigrant' who knew he would likely be 'found' and sent back to his homeland - yet he put the needs of this child before his own...people (in California especially) look down on these people as a whole - if only more would treat them as individuals and show compassion...

colorfuldayz - I am glad you were able to learn of this via my blog...all we ever hear is the negative regarding the immigrants trying to find a better life - this young man has hopefully opened the eyes of many people.
