Finally........R A I N !
At about 11:30pm the skies over Corona del Mar finally opened and the rain POURED down upon us! You could actually hear people in our 'hood yell "wooo-hoo!" :) You would think it never rained in southern California the way we have been anticipating this all day!
In the late afternoon the ocean was choppy with a strong onshore flow...and clouds on the horizon obscuring Santa Catalina drew everyone down to the beach just to see this rare September "storm" approaching...

i have experienced it in the past while living in northern africa, becoming exiting about a rain storm!! having a rain ball in corona beach. LOL! i wished i could sent you some more, we've had it all summer long. the images are stunning, not at all like the sunny pictures i am used to see from your observations.

Very exciting indeed Marita :) These are the kind of days I live for living on the coast! I LOVE when the ocean is churning and storm clouds approach...it is my favorite time at the beach :)

Hmm...your post reminds me of:
Seems it never rains in southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California, but girl, don't they warn ya?
It pours, man, it pours

I don't know about y'all but after the weekend rain, we are now supposed to have a bit of heat for the coming week.

Dagny- I heard the weather report...it is supposed to get in the high 80s this week on the coast! I am in a fall and winter state of mind...I want cold, cloudy, rainy and blustery days :) Those are my favorite beach days!

I love it when it rains!
It was absolutely gorgeous here today...not as gorgeous as where you are but suburb gorgeous. The kind of gorgeous that made me want to drive the 25 minutes drive to the beach where it was probably overcast and just BE :)

Linda! Thanks for visiting my blog :)
I love 'suburb gorgeous'...any suburb that has a yellow house (with a soon to be red door) like yours is gorgeous!!!! :)
Let's keep doing our rain dances!
