Makin' Art - Not War !

While waiting to take off to Disneyland yesterday I created the above page in my journal. Again, using acrylic paints and Caran d'Ache water-soluble wax pastels.

*****
And then...a day at Disneyland... I took over 100 photographs...but out of kindness to my readers I will only post four ;-)

Above..I LOVE this striking image, part of a mural in Disney's California Adventure.

Above: The park is decorated for Halloween...a giant Mickey pumpkin on Main Street, ....SCARY!! LOL!!

Above: Ariel, The Little Mermaid against the night sky in the Parade of Dreams.

Above: Detail of the hookah-smoking Caterpillar from Alice In Wonderland in the Parade Of Dreams.

Love the photo of the mural. I've never been to California Adventure. Actually I haven't been to Disneyland since I was 16.

Don't know if I can ever step foot in Disneyland again. A college course in which the place was discussed left permanent scars.

Dagny, I've heard some behind-the-scenes stuff through the years as well....much of it negative....but still...it is a great escape for me and the girls and we've met some wonderful 'cast members' who work there.

Thanks plumcrafty, Kate ;-) I would LOVE to spend a day at Disneyland with you - and seeing it through the eyes of someone seeing it for the first time!

    Hey Kate,
Love the postcards you send to Mom! And yeah, it would be TOOCOOL to be able to take a Disneyland virgin! ;)

Ahh. The stuff in the class was not so much about the behind the scenes stuff as it was about the design of the park. All I can hope is that good ole Walt is rolling in his cryogenic vault over the more recent Disney animated movies.

~~ Love the parade shots ~~ It's been too many years since I been in Disneyland...an' the stories of it's questionable behind the scenes stuff will go on till forever.

Your new work is too good. Wish I could get the $$ for these kind on pencils..Keep these comin'!
