Out of PAIN, comes ART ;-)

Who said getting old is fun? Huh? Who said that?!? Where is that person so I can slap them upside the head??
I don't have a clue what I did yesterday - but somehow I pulled a muscle I guess...just lifting my cup of tea this morning made me groan! It's my neck and my shoulder and picking up things just hurts like hell.
I didn't want to just sit doing nothing - so I made art. Yeah, even picking up the paint brush hurt...how lame is that, huh? HOW LAME IS THAT?!?!
Ok, maybe I am a bit touchy right now... hee hee...

Last week I carved a rubber stamp of Paul McCartney - just to see if I could do it. And I succeeded pretty well I think.
Today I found some junk mail to use in my background and created a page in my visual journal with it.
Not my best work - but I HAD to do something instead of concentrating on the PAIN!

Oh Jolene, I know how much even the teeniest of pulled muscles can hurt. That intense pain can be stabbing....

I hope it goes away soon and that you're back to feeling like your "old" self again. You need to take a walk and get some sun on your muscles. I heard rumor that you have quite a bit of sunshine where you live!!

kai...thank you! I thought your name sounded familiar - so I clicked on it...and lo and behold you belong to Violette's tribe :) I LOVE the photo of the dolphin on your blog...one of my greatest joys is sitting on the cliffs watching them swim below!!!

garden painter art, Kim - my intention for today was to take a walk down to the beach - but I was miserable! And would you believe the sun has been coming out late here...mornings have been overcast and gloomy - really a drag! But now as I write this (5:30pm) we have blue sky and sunshine :) Thanks for your well wishes!

I have found that ibuprofen has become my friend quite often these days. In severe cases (those in which it hurts to turn my head in a certain direction), then I quickly make me way to the doctor for flexeril. I think that flexeril makes me happy in the same way that vicodin makes others happy. Happy, happy, happy!

Oh yeah, and of course, I love your latest creation.

dagny - THANKS! I went looking for the flexeril - then remembered Jill used the last of it! She suggested vicodin - I passed. I went for the ibuprofen which has only made me sleepy :(

If my best looked half as good as not your best then I would be one happy bunny. You did an excellent job on the stamp and the whole piece has such a summery sixties feel to it.

Let me know if you need me to send you some Deep Heat over for your neck and shoulder.
